What is my identity in Jesus Christ?

A couple of weeks ago, in Sunday School, we studied how we are God’s “Masterpiece”. In the Bible, specifically, Ephesians 2:10, Paul writes that we were created in Christ for good works which God prepared in advance. I want to encourage you to read the entire Book of Ephesians if you have not already, and hang out in it. Don’t rush through. It is not a race. God pours out his love, will, and comfort among us throughout His word. I was teaching the children this verse and reminding them that they are loved by Jesus Christ. I was reminding them that they were strategically created by a God who is the BEST artist and Creator. How wonderful to know this and keep it stored in your heart when you are attacked by Satan on your worth. I felt led by the Holy Spirit to teach this to the young children. It is imperative to know to whom we belong. I want my children to know their confidence and identity are in Jesus Christ alone.

JUST A FEW FACTS & REMINDERS:

Your identity in Jesus Christ is not based on your past, your struggles, or how others see you—it is rooted in who God says you are. As a new believer, this truth becomes the foundation of your confidence and faith. Scripture reminds us in 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV), “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” You are also deeply loved and chosen, as 1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV) declares, “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people.” Even in moments of doubt, your worth remains secure because Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV) affirms, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works.” And most importantly, your faith anchors you in Christ, for Galatians 2:20 (NKJV) reminds us, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” When you embrace these truths, you can walk boldly, knowing your identity is firmly established in Jesus Christ.

How to Make a change and commit your life to Jesus Christ:

Furthermore, we are filled with so much trash and evil daily. We often hear things contradictory to God and much more fulfilling to our flesh. Look at the television, our phones, and social media. Research shows that people spend HOURS scrolling on their phones or sitting in front of the television watching different streams of entertainment. We seek things that “feed” the flesh. Oh, how dangerous this is. We fill our ears and eyes with words and images that pollute our souls. Do you know how detrimental this is? Friend, please know this can be broken.

We seek TO DO and have no idea what we are doing. Our self-worth is grounded in meaningless things. I want to encourage you to stop this and run from it. What you do (especially with wrong motives) will not get you anywhere. God will not give you a seat in a VIP(Very Important Person) lounge in Heaven(if you are spending eternal life there). Most people are scared to die because they have NO IDEA where they will be when they take their last breath here on earth and in eternity. It will be in one of two places….HEAVEN or HELL. Let that sit for a moment. Your works and how “nice” you are will not get you into Heaven.

Your worth and identity MUST BE ROOTED IN JESUS CHRIST. I do know how it feels when it is NOT ROOTED IN CHRIST. THIS IS IMPORTANT:

I pray you know who you belong to. I hope that as you read these words, it will cause you to want more of Jesus Christ in your life. Reader, the time is running low. We are at the end, and I cannot stress how important it is to seek the Lord- if you have no idea what I mean and have been feeling empty, lost, and tired- please read this link- https://bibleandcake.com/i-want-to-invite-jesus-into-my-life/

You can come to Jesus messy and tired. Empty and angry. Go to Him and know you will be filled. However, it is your choice. He will NOT force you. Your identity can change. Your eternal address can change, too.

Thank you for reading and I hope and pray Bibleandcake builds up your faith, marriage, and ministry in motherhood.
