Do not let the doubts and disappointments consume your life.

Life can be hard, especially if you are not a believer or even a “Christian” who has a non-existent relationship with Jesus Christ. We will all face the typical lack of trust and doubt in our hearts. We will face the letdowns, and people will disappoint us. Most likely, there will come a time when you will lose a friend that you thought was a “friend”. Close family or friends will lie to you or “hurt you”. This is life. We live in a sinful, broken world. This comes with all of us- broken people who are born with a sinful nature and a selfish nature.

How often do we criticize others, and when we look in the mirror, we may be doing the same thing differently? If you are honest, it could often be, and we should be working on this! I hope that this post will be a reminder that the doubts you may have about your life can be stopped and broken. I also hope that you will not dwell on and ponder all the disappointments and failures in your life. So whether you are a mother and/or a wife, engaged, single, divorced, or all the above….we can seek the Lord in all things and come to his feet and surrender it all.

Maybe today will be your day, when you will say, Lord, I want to have Peace. I know I can only get Peace from you. “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” John 14:27, NKJV. You need to let go of all the worries and doubts about your future because this is not the Lord’s will for your life. He wants you to trust in Him with all things. He also calls you to do your part in your life. Which is a choice. However, I pray that you will make that step on your part and be done with the “negative thoughts”, idolatry, sinful desires and thoughts, selfish lifestyle, and past mistakes. Have you decided to put the Lord Jesus first in your life? Have you decided that you want to hang up all the disappointments, guilt, and shame? You can. Will you?

Jesus died on the cross for you and me. For the world. He loves you and me that much. It is so hard to even grasp, but His word says this, and as a believer, we must believe and trust this, too. In the Bible, Book of 1 John, we read, ” If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”. 1 John 1:9, NKJV. Go to Jesus. Confess your sins. Pour out your heart. Although he knows it, we should have an open heart with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Your past is the past. Unless you want to dwell in it…that is your choice. Some people “miss their past”. They desire to live in sin and debauchery. They lust after the choices, relationships, and sinful nature that is killing them and leading them to death. “Let no one say when he is tempted, ‘I am tempted by God’”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.  But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.” James 1:13-15, NKJV. The Bible is clear. Cannot get more clearer than that.

We can move forward in Christ. We can have a fulfilling, meaningful life by following the Lord and knowing His will, which begins by having a personal relationship with the Father through his son, Jesus Christ. This is not about getting what you want. This is nothing magical or mystical. None of that is in a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus.

Life will have hiccups. Sometimes in your control and sometimes not in our control. We cannot give up or be deceived by the evil one. We must press into Him and seek what He has for us in a time like this. Sometimes we will face trials, testing, and failures. Are you ready? Are you so grounded in the Lord that you can stand because of Him? “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.  But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” James 1:2-4, NKJV.

Finally, ask yourself how is your walk? How is your life going? Let’s not measure this by “happiness”. Let’s not measure this by money, promotions, trips, or the number of friends you have. Truly, ask yourself what is going on? If the Lord were to return right now, would you be ready?

Do not be consumed by your worries, doubts, and failures. Do not let these things “rob” you of what God has for you. This is exactly what the evil one wants. Do not stay stuck in a rut and a poor me mood. Wake up and seek the Lord. Surround yourself with other Godly believers who are living in a way that shows their faith is locked and grounded in the Lord Jesus. Yes, you are who you associate with. Very simple. I wanna close with this! Psalm 34:18, NKJV, ” The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.” I hope you will decide to let it all go. Whatever it may be holding you down and know that Jesus loves you so much! He loves you more than any human being you may be so in love with. You can start today and know that there is freedom in Christ! “We love Him because he first loved us, 1 John 4:19, NKJV”.

Thank you!
