Jesus, Marriage and Mamahood

Children, God's Word, Marriage/Relationships, Motherhood

Please do not forget this….

As the school year begins around the world and the summer routine goes away, do not forget to slow down. Regardless of the season, we should always strive to slow down and take each day at a time. We are not promised another day. We should cherish the day we are given. I hope that this post will be a gentle reminder to all that we need to keep Jesus at the center of our hearts, day, family, and even the routines from day to day. I hope that as you continue to “plan” that you trust God and know that the Bible says, “for I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope”. Jeremiah 29:11, NKJV.

Whatever you may be going through right now, OR what you will face. God knows. Unfortunately, we live in a fallen, broken world. However, God knows all things. Nothing surprises him.

Please do not forget this.

As we take breaths each day, thank the Lord. Be thankful and content in your life. Even in the HARD season. Look at who God is. He is faithful. It may be so hard to see when you are at the bottom and struggling in your circumstances. However, the Bible says, “for You have been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat” Isaiah 25:4, NKJV.

Furthermore, I often hear, as a mother myself, that sometimes being a parent is the hardest job people have. I hear that marriage is difficult, and statistically, people do not “want to marry” BUT have all the “benefits” of marriage. We hear and see that people want more money and more stuff, they want to travel the world and see it cause they have “one life to live”. Please do not forget this: Parents, seek the Lord as a parent. Mothers and Fathers must keep Jesus at the center of raising their children. We must be praying and modeling behavior that is biblical, not worldly. Children will not be perfect. We are not perfect, but the Bible says, “and these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates”. Deuteronomy 6-9, NKJV.

Additionally, marriage is a covenant. It is not a contract. Therefore, it should NOT be taken lightly. Some people may not get married. However, the Bible still states that they are to live in godliness, purity, and not worldly as an excuse. See, we cannot and should NOT twist and manipulate scripture to bend down and justify lifestyles or our wishes! If you are married, fight for your marriage and value your marriage. If you are single, cherish, honor, and stay pure during this season. Seeking the Lord in both relationships(marriage and singleness) is imperative and a must. The Bible says in Matthew 6:33, NKJV, “but seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Moreover, we are held accountable for the life we live here on EARTH. Remember that. Everything you do and say. Your heart. Your thoughts, priorities, parenthood, work, relationships, choices, marriage, and most importantly, who Christ is to you. Who is Jesus to you? What does that mean, and does your life model that? I was speaking to someone a couple of years back and said, The Lord is coming back. They responded with a “LAUGH” and said, “Yeah, we keep hearing that, and no time soon is ‘he’ coming”. It was dismissive. It was a remark of lack of faith and, honestly, emptiness. I prayed for that person, and I hope they will know that Jesus is Lord and will be returning SOON. I pray that they seek Him and read God’s word, cause that answer would no longer be an answer if you believe in the God of the Bible, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This life is fleeting. This life is temporary. Eternal life is forever. I do not focus on the “best life to live mentality. I focus and stand on where Jesus is, what He is doing, and how we can be a part of his kingdom work. I stand on the scriptures and strive by the power of the Holy Spirit to live accordingly. Most importantly, as a believer in Jesus, I wanna walk and talk like it. As a wife, I want to be the woman God has created me to be. As a mother, I want to raise, love, teach ,and nurture our babies in a Godly, safe, loving home. Please do not forget these things.

In Jesus’ name, I hope you seek God. I hope you open your Bible and make time to start reading and becoming more like Christ. I hope and pray you turn away from ungodly things, REPENT, and draw near to Jesus. I hope BibleandCake is a blessing and a gentle reminder that this world is NOT our home. Jesus is Lord and Savior.
