“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.
Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;
They shall not be ashamed,
But shall speak with their enemies in the gate”. Psalm 127:3-5, NKJV.
Children are a blessing and a reward from God. This is what the Bible tells us. How come society, the world, and people make children out to be a burden, nuisance, and a disturbance?
The other day, I saw a reel of a mother texting her friend about getting together. The funny BUT true detail of the reel was that she texted, ” I am available 7 Saturdays from now between 1 pm-230pm”….something like that. You may think this is “extreme,” but having a family and a full quiver comes down to this type of planning. LOL. I can relate. So most people will say, ” I am so sorry you have to live this way”…” that is exactly why I do not have kids so I can go be with my friends”…..I am too selfish and work too hard to have to spend my money and time on another human being”……All of that is SAD. Nevertheless, we find in Genesis 1:28, “Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
People cringe when they hear someone has more than two kids. It’s like a disease and a burden. I have three! I love seeing big families! I believe if the husband and wife are raising their children in the admonition of the Lord and have a strong foundation built on God’s word, the Lord will have favor on them. I hope we can see children as a blessing. I pray we can raise our children in Jesus Christ and take full responsibility for each child. Let us take responsibility as PARENTS. RAISE THEM AS DISCIPLES PEOPLE. Teach them the right things and not the worldly things. Shield them from this world. Provide them with tools as they grow so that when they leave the home, they can fight because they have a strong, Godly foundation.
It is an honor to be a mother to my three children. I have said plenty of times that I am tired, and it is the hardest job I have. It is also the MOST important and rewarding job I have been given by my God. My kiddos are not a burden to me. They push the limits, they are children. We were all children before. Take that in. You were once little. Parents lets STOP making excuses that we “are so tired” “we are too busy with Project A” and throwing our kids in front of a tablet, television, video game so we can have time to even scroll on our phone longer.
Changing our mindset by digging into the Word of God will change our hearts. We should be striving to be more like the Lord Jesus, filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. If your viewpoints are clouded by evil opinions, especially about little ones, this is NOT of the Lord. Look at Luke 18:15-17, “Then they also brought infants to Him that He might touch them; but when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to Him and said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.”
Soooo, the Lord says such is the “kingdom of God”. We do not find anything in the Bible saying keep the children away from Jesus and their parents….have no kids, have less kids, belittle them….we do not find abortion in the Bible…..
Unfortunately, ABORTION is accepted and legal in the USA. It is applauded and encouraged. ABORTION- Planned murder of an unborn baby. Life is at conception. When a man and a woman have sex and the sperm fertilizes the egg, it is LIFE. So we encourage people to “hook up” and have so many sexual partners and ignore the consequences of sexually transmitted diseases and of conceiving a child, which in return becomes a BURDEN. If you have been a part of anything like this, know that God can forgive. Seek him…repent and ask for forgiveness.
We send our teenage girls to the gynecologist or primary care physicians to put them on birth control so they can “be kids and have the time of their life”. You can only imagine what occurs on college campuses and after school because of the LACK of PARENTING and MORE ENABLING of unbiblical principles taught to our children. We condone and accept our young boys to have no self control around young women. Heck, we can all read the statistics on the increase in pornography addiciton amoung our youth. Most children have some sort of tablet and/or cellphone that has internet which gives free range of inappropriate material and behavior. We allow children to be “alone” on phones and sleep with their electronics in their room. There is no accountability, supervision and children are growing up fast being bombarded with material not suitable for them or an adult. WE NEED TO PARENT. WE NEED TO BE PRESENT.
You dont have to run from being a parent. You do not have to think that just because it will not be “perfect and hard” you should not have children. Those are the lies of Satan and words from DUMB PEOPLE. Ignore and run from it all. Go to GOD’s word and see what He says. Not MAN. Not some individual who has “degrees from a University that teaches God is not real and the Bible is Not true.
What do I need to do as a parent???????
Well, if you have been slacking or asleep in this area based on the above…do not worry, there is time to wake up and make some changes. You can always change and turn directions especially when you know there needs to be a change.

How can we improve and what can we do:

-Evaluate your schedule as a parent. What needs to GO BYE BYE? What day is your SABBATH: Day of rest????? On that day, are you or your spouse driving to a sporting event for a child or an activity because it is scheduled on your worship day?
-Are you and your family attending a Bibe teaching church that teaches God’s word?
-Do you allow electronic devices in your home? If so, what perimeters and protection do you have in place? Monitor the phones? Remove and replace with flip phones(no internet phones) if your reason is ” I want to reach my child”?
-Quality time with your children? Do you have one on one time with each child? Even if its 20 mins a day or night or an hour every weekend…make time for this from young to teens….
-BE present!!!!!!!Be available!!!!!
-Enjoy your children.
-Surround yourself with godly people who cheer you on and encourage you according to the scriptures on how to become a better parent.
-Model godly behavior…. practice what you preach.
-Love on your children and tell them they are important. Teach them what the Bible says. This is our responsibility. This is ministry!
-Please remember this: Just because someone has a “degree” does NOT make them smart. It does not mean they are credible. Use common sense and most importantly, seek the Lord at all times for all things.
May the Lord bless you and yours! Stay close to the Lord. Seek Him daily. Pay attention to your household. Be aware or what is going on. Be home and available. Be faithful in your calling and as much as it is hard at times, seek your Lord and Savior for all the strength, wisdom and clarity. He sees you and knows every detail.
