Hi there! I wanted to share a few things I find important to incorporate in your prayer life. These all happen to start with the letter P! Sometimes when we are praying we may feel “stuck” and do not know what to say to the Father. Well, I suggest you use that to stay quiet and listen to Him. The Holy Spirit will guide you and lead you. In addition to sitting still in the Lord’s presence, I also utilize these “P” in my prayer daily.
Purity- “How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your Word.” Psalm 119:9, NKJV. We should be careful what we put in front of our eyes, and listen to with our ears. What do we allow our hearts to desire? ” But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his desires and enticed. Then when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and sin when it is full-grown, brings forth death”. James 1:15, NKJV.
Provision-God is our provider. He is faithful, Our Protector! When you get a chance read 1Kings Chapter 17! We can study and understand how God provided for Elijah. We can also look at the Lord’s prayer and mediate and lean on ” Give us today our daily bread”….
Peace- With all the noise and worries in our life, we should be asking and inviting God’s peace and calmness. Please also refer back to my previous post: https://bibleandcake.com/5-bible-verses-when-you-feel-anxiety-fear-worry/
Patience- Oh boy, don’t we all need this especially if you are a wife and mother! However, God’s timing is not our time. Please also remember trials and tribulations will happen whether you are a follower of Jesus or not. The wonderful thing is if you have Jesus during the trial- it is a whole lot better! James 1:2-4, NKJV, ” My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have it’s perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing”.
Parenting-We should be praying about how to be better and intentional parents to our children. They are our responsibility. We need to raise our children in the House of the Lord and teach them God’s Word. I am huge on “practice what you preach”. Your children(and others) are watching and the world is so big on “Christians being hypocrites”- well sometimes I cannot blame them because some claim to be in the Faith but the works are dead. We cannot be like this and have children. We must stand firm and teach and grow individually and as a family. My favorite verse(well one of them)- is ” Deuteronomy 6:4-9, NKJV, “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
Protection-Isaiah 40:31, NKJV, But those who wait on the Lord. Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”
Please also consider praying God’s word into your life. The above verses are a great start. As always, I hope this is a blessing to you! Please consider leaving a comment and letting me know!!!!!
