What does the Bible say?
My heart is heavy with all the loud noise of evil. There is so much darkness in the world. It has been here but it is getting worse. We cannot be naive about it. If you are a parent, you have an important job to do. We need to protect and teach our children what is right. This is NOT hate speech. I will not accept, ” you need to adapt to today cause nothing will change Tore either”. However, I will stand firm to what God has left for us and that is HIS HOLY WORD. THE BIBLE.
As a follower of Jesus( yes I will say this constantly), I will try my best to always abide by what God says. Am I perfect, no. But as I draw near to Jesus daily, ultimately, sanctification( to become more like Jesus) applies- we desire to do His will, and be obedient. We want to be the salt and light as the Bible says. “Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into this city.” Revelation 22:14, NKJV.
As you know, we have three children( 5, 3, and 1 years old). I introduced them(Cupcake, Cake and Cakepop) in my About Me Section of this blog. Please check it out at the top of the menu! Lately, with all the nonsense and changes in school curriculums, invitations to adapt to a culture that is against God’s word, we have been quite busy. You see, we have an important job to raise our children in the Lord. We live in a world that does not want Jesus to be the center. We live in a world where if you have an opinion because you are a follower of Jesus, you are a hater and a bigot. However, I am just a sinner saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Sin is sin. The Bible is the Bible. Everything in it from beginning to end is truth. Everything in it, prophecy has happened.
We need to get ahold of it and grasp it, follow it and live it out.
Mama if you are raising children too, hold on cause it will always be a bumpy road but God blessed us with them because He knows if we have Him then we will be alright. Teach your children what is RIGHT ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE. NOT the WORLD.
Psalm 147:11, NKJV “The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, In those who hope in His mercy”.
Romans 1:16, NKJV, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek”.
I want to encourage you with the following despite the times we are in right now:
- Pay close attention to the television shows that you may have your children watch.
- Pay very close attention to the public and private school curriculums that are being taught to your children.
- Shield your children as long as you can from this world. Protect their eyes, ears, and heart.
- Pay close attention to the music you and your children listen to.
- Get planted in a bible teaching church that teaches the TRUTH. The BIBLE. No fluff. I recommend a church that is teaching straight through the Bible.
- Hang around, like-minded bible believers. Seek Godly counsel. You may need to do some cleaning up here with your friends. Tough love.
- Teach your children the Word of God. Bible memorization, Children ministries, prayer, and talking about the Lord Jesus. It is YOUR responsibility NOT the CHURCH or SCHOOL.
- I would minimize and observe any technology used in your home. If this is an issue in your home it is best to remove it from your children. The good old running around and playing outside is the “best medicine”. With 3 young children, we have invested in our basement and playroom. We also have a backyard where they can run around instead of television. It is fine once in a while but we have monitored and controlled this in our home. I would link this with point #1, as there is a lot of garbage on the television/internet.
- Practice what you preach. This is for believers in Jesus who call themselves a born-again Christian. Non-believers are watching, the world is watching. Don’t go around saying you love Jesus yet you “love” to sin and do what the world does. Don’t go around preaching and condemning people on Sundays but Monday-Saturday you are all over the place with your language, activities, and lifestyle. Repent and turn away and live it out. Do not put others down, especially those who are trying to live according to God’s words.
- Stand FIRM and be BOLD for what is RIGHT! My husband reminds me of this consistently. We do not care what others think and surely not the World. I pray this blog will move those who do not know Jesus to know Him. The gift is Free and it is your choice.
“And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them”. Ephesians 2:1-10, NKJV.
