****Disclaimer****: In this post, I make a few suggestions that have helped me. I am not a physician so please speak with your appropriate medical provider if you have any questions, worries etc.
Teething is so hard
Cakepop is teething like crazy!!!!! The nights have not been so enjoyable! Hubby and I are used to the kiddos sleeping through the night with no to minimal interruptions! The poor little guy just wants to nurse every few hours. I remind myself- this will not last and it’s a season I get to be a part of! It is a lot easier to have minimal sleep and not have to wake up and go to the office for work. I can actually stay in my yoga pants, at home and look like a bum all day! Look like a bum and act like a bum(aka run a few errands and hang out at home). However, it may sound easy to some but it is not. Every season has it’s ups and down and the things that comes with being a mother is not always easy!
So teething will end, then something else will pop up with one of the babies….it is just how life rolls! You get through one thing and then you discover that there is something else you must teach, unteach or go through with your child! Our work is never completed! We are called to do this high-honoring “job”! The struggles are not fun at the moment but all of it is a blessing!!!!
Four things that can help mother while baby is teething:
What are some things you do to help the tiring days “feel little easier”?
I wanted to list a few things that seem to help me when I am in the moment:
- Praying in the morning and night: This is a must for me! Communicating with the Lord gives me strength and comfort! I bring all my worries, questions, and frustrations to my Lord!!!!
- Good diet: Sometimes this is hard mama. I get it. I know the mothers who run on coffee, coffee, water, coffee, and maybe a yogurt and bar hahaha. Yet, we must try to fit in a healthy diet to sustain our energy and stay healthy so that when our kiddos wear us out or are sick, we have that strong immune system and energy to move on.
- Tell yourself it will not last: I think a little self-talk is healthy once in a while! Lack of sleep for any reason is hard but once the kiddos get older and are more self-sufficient this will get easier.
- Rest or nap: I believe I have shared this before but if I am exhausted due to the above- I will lie down when it is quiet/nap time here. It helps a whole lot! I highly suggest you put the other things on the back burner and climb into bed! Oh and set your alarm!!!!!
