"And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”
John 3:19-21, NKJV

I can relate to living in darkness. Blinded by my flesh’s desires and the influences of this world, I lived it all. I wanted things that were NOT good for me. That was me. When I realized that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, when I realized that a personal relationship and friendship with Jesus Christ is what I wanted and needed, I began to realize that I needed to separate from this dark, empty life.
The rush to “FEEL” good, “FEEL HAPPY”…..the DESIRE to get “FILLED” with worldly things, people, activities, and plans begin to diminish. I did not want it anymore. When I asked Jesus to be Lord of my life, I asked Him to be LORD over ALL things in my life.

The activities and relationships slowly changed. My previous friendships that were surrounded by drinking, gossiping, and storytelling of our sinful behaviors became nonexistent. I did not have a desire to occupy the same establishments. Something was happening inside of me. My heart did not want it. The power of the Holy Spirit was changing me inside, and I was repenting of the dark, evil behavior that I once enjoyed. You can read more here: https://bibleandcake.com/category/my-story/
When there is darkness, whether with your behavior and/or lifestyle, you will find sneakiness, stress, division, chaos, and much more of the evil one’s fingerprints. Where there is LIGHT, there is no darkness. Store this in your mind and heart. It will be a good reminder when you need to make choices or decisions that always have consequences or rewards.

“Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” John 8:12, NKJV…..
Therefore, He is all I need. He fills me. He is the only one who can save me and has delivered me. I tried it all. I am sure you are trying it all or have TRIED it all. Nothing works. All the excuses that I want to cover my behavior. Maybe you can relate, too. The life you are living is not what you want. You know there is more but you cannot find it.
So, you look at people to fill your happiness but are left disappointed. You look at that husband of yours, and he isn’t filling what you “believe” you need. You lean on your children but they are children, and that, too, is not working. Your career is disappointing but the salary and hope for retirement keep you going. Maybe, you see that the drink you have every night or Friday and Saturday is temporary and makes you feel good for a few hours. Maybe it’s the pills that numb you and you cannot seem to get the rush of feeling good as you once did. Are you feeling like you are getting older and have not completed all on your “wish list”. Sorry, there is NO wish list….what is God’s will for your life? There is more. There sure is and it can only be found in Jesus Christ alone. A quote I want to leave with you…… “I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept His claim to be God.’ That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher … You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool … or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us.” -C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity.

Maybe you are one foot in and the other foot out. Gotta make that decision. Either go left or right. Go wide or narrow. you cannot have both. God knows your heart, thoughts, desires and intentions. Its that simple, its the truth. His word, the Bible is what we should all mirror and strive to live by. We are not perfect BUT that does not give us the excuse and the open door to do what we please. Let the Light expose darkness….
There could be several things that need to be exposed: LET THE LIGHT EXPOSE IT ALL.
- Your thoughts
- Behavior
- Lying or withholding information from your spouse or another person.
- Infidelty
- Relationships
- Marriage
- Addictions
- the list can continue…..
I want to encourage you to seek the Lord. Go to Him and ask if there is anything in your heart that needs to be removed. If you do not know the Lord, please see this link for more on what it means to give your life to Jesus. https://bibleandcake.com/i-want-to-invite-jesus-into-my-life/.
I want to leave you with this: there is always room for change. God’s will is for you know His Son Jesus and to have a personal relationship with Him. I say this often in my postings…this is NOT religion. This is NOT a forced relationship you think you need in order to “be saved”.
Jesus is the LIGHT. Walk with him. Seek Him. Surrrender ALL of you to Him. He will not disappoint. He will clean you up. We need to make a decision. If you are reading this- it is not too late.
