I have heard these phrases often…..
“They are living their best life”,
“We had the time of our life back in college and/or high school”….
” The drinking and partying was so fun! It was the BEST time of my life”….
I always wonder as a follower of Jesus should we yearn for our past life, BEFORE CHRIST? Should we be glorifying sin and unrighteousness? NO.
I sin, we all sin. We all fall short. That is why we need a Savior. We cannot deny our sinful nature however, we must resist the attraction and desire of sin. When we do sin, we need to confess our sins to the Lord, not a man, who is just as sinful as us.
The Merriam -Webster Dictionary defines repent as, ” to feel regret or contrition, to change one’s mind”. The Bible, NKJV defines Repent as “to be sorry, with a change of heart, to make a moral U-turn from sin to God”.
We should not have a desire to glorify our past especially if we have been born again and invited Jesus into our life. If you have not you can, it is your decision. The beautiful thing, God gave us Free Will. You cannot become a born-again believer in Jesus by your parents, pastor, class, location, church, or family upbringing. You have to make that personal decision for yourself and live it out because there is a change, desire in your heart, and personal relationship with Jesus. It does not matter if you had a terrible past, imprisonment, and/or made horrific decisions…you too can invite Jesus into your life!
Romans 10:9-10, NKJV
“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.”
John 1:12, NKJV
“But as many, as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.”

“Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and I am sorry. Thank you that Jesus Christ died in my place. I ask Jesus to forgive me of all my sins and to come into my life. Please direct my life. Thank you for giving me eternal life. In Jesus’ name. Amen”.
