Why this verse?
With 3 young kiddos, Kevin and I are constantly correcting, teaching, loving, and modeling. If you were a fly on the wall of my house, you would hear ” Luke 6:31″ recited consistently to my children. My hope is that they will learn what is right through God’s WORD not what the WORLD tells them. Kevin and I are responsible for them. It is our duty, job, and role to teach them the morals, values, and lessons, Bible and how to live and to survive in this crazy, chaotic, unstable, ungodly world we live in.
Luke 6:31, NKJV: "And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise". Luke 6:31, NIV "Do to others as you would have them do to you".
Let them know, understand and apply the Bible…..
My hope and strong desire are that our 3 young children will value not only themselves but each other as siblings. I say this verse out loud when they are “fighting over a toy, or not being kind to one another and even when they making a “mean or silly face” that irritates the other. Let’s just say, when they are being siblings. I want them to learn and understand that if their sister or brother dislikes that then maybe “we should stop”, maybe we should stop snatching the toy from them or annoying each other. Cupcake and Cake understand this verse and apply it when there are reminders. They quickly resolve the issues themselves as we want to teach them that we as parents do not need “FIX” everything for them. They need to learn to work it out too- aka “problem solve”.
Now adults…..
What if we applied God’s word to our personal life? Stop and think about some of your actions today. If you want to be treated better maybe should examine how you treat others. If you want to be “honored, ” you may need to review, pray, and model the same things in your marriage as you want from your spouse. Friendships? Work? Marriage? Childrearing? and the list can go on and on. We need to evaluate our actions and, most importantly, our hearts. How do we treat others? Our intentions behind our actions? Also, if you are not treated correctly, think about that relationship(depending on the type) and pray about it. God will show you. Just listen and stay grounded, and close to him.

Hey Tore!
I am finally getting the post to my actual email. I think it is amazing how they Cake & cupcake ae applying and understanding these concepts so young. The world is definitely a negative influence on ADULTS and children. I have hope & faith in GOD that other parents are instructing, inspiring and encouraging their children as well.
Thank you BOTH for being actual parents!!

I remember this verse Luke 6:31, “Do to others as you would have them do to you”. from my own childhood being quoted to me by my very own parents. I still use it to this day as an adult.
